How can we not be racist when every commercial on television promotes fair skin? How can we not make fun of fat people when every hoarding in town popularises the lean? How can we not sustain the rich when everything in life comes with a price? Life is a battle where before you fight you need to decide how much you are willing to lose. Criticisms will punch you. Fears will kick you from behind. Failure will knock you out. However no matter how bad you’re hurt, the ones who last all along are the ones who make a fortune.
There are times when you feel, why can’t I be like that? Why can’t I have that? But only when you appreciate what you have, will you get what you don’t. Some have it all lined for them on a silver platter, some snatch theirs from others and some don’t even know what silver looks like. Nevertheless we need to realize that it’s always darkest before it turns pitch black.
Is it because we are selfish mammals? Or are we? While selflessness is a gift owned by all, it is opened by none. We succumb to false generosity, although the motive remains one. And so sometimes you have to step outside of the person you’ve been, and remember the person you were meant to be, the person you wanted to be, the person you are.
